Shenzhen News reported on 18 June on the 2026 BRICS Future Networks Innovation Forum in Shenzhen. Representatives from BRICS and related countries exchanged policy, technology and industry experience on digital infrastructure, next-generation networks and AI.
The forum presented outcomes from BRICS pioneering internet cities, released a 2026 report on BRICS in the digital economy and inaugurated a joint innovation centre for next-generation communications networks and AI. Green data centres, computing-network convergence and cross-border connectivity were also discussed.
Subforums held from the afternoon of 16 June to the morning of 17 June covered digital industry ecosystems, intelligent networks, AI and data sovereignty, and universal meaningful connectivity. Together they supported exchanges on network development, industry collaboration and capacity building.
