Discussions addressed shared computing resources, open data, multilingual AI and ethical governance. Scientific representatives highlighted unequal access to AI infrastructure and research capabilities, proposing joint research, researcher exchanges and capacity building.
The discussions were intended to inform BRICS science cooperation and prepare a joint document for an in-person meeting at IIT Hyderabad in July. The organizers planned to revise the draft statement following the initial meeting.
